Een bijzondere gebeurtenis vandaag tijdens de derde Test tussen India en Australië: Anil Kumble pakte Test-wicket 600.

They appeal and appeal and finally Asad Rauf lifts the finger, and Kumble explodes in celebration
Slechts twee andere bowlers bereikten eerder deze mijlpaal; Australiër Shane Warne en Sri Lankaan Muttiah Muralitharan. Deze twee zijn echter nog stap verder gegaan en passeerden ook de 700-grens. Warne is ondertussen gestopt, maar Murali gaat nog wel een paar jaar mee en voor hem zijn de 1000 wickets haalbaar.
Kumble, Warne en Muralitharan worden beschouwd als de drie grootste spinbowlers van deze tijd en tot de beste aller tijden en het is dan ook niet meer dan passend dat Kumble zich als derde lid bij de zeer exclusieve 600-club voegt.
