IPL big hit in US, so Stanford was right after all

Right now, YouTube’s IPL channel has over 49.5 million views. [..] Viewers from 200 countries have watched the streams. Unsurprisingly, India has the most views overall; coming in second is the United States — YouTube had expected that spot to go to the UK or Australia, where cricket gets far more attention.

Netherlands are a county team

Netherlands named Michael Dighton as their overseas player. At first I thought we found another Aussie with Dutch parents, but he turns out to be a genuine foreigner who will be playing for us in the Clydesdale Bank 40.

Sounds funny, doesn’t it? But when when it comes to county cricket, Netherlands are technically een county team and so are allowed an overseas player.

Just wish that the KNCB aimed a bit higher. Wasn’t Brian Lara looking for a stint in a one-day competition?
