Please wait here for first available wicket

Watching England collapse earlier today I suddenly remembered an old post on The Corridor (Will Luke’s blog) which had this tremendous photo (taken by Sean) in it.

On days like today, bowlers must be feeling as if they are lining up behind such a sign, watching as the new batsman walks out to the crease.

It must be a great feeling.

Rain stopped interview

Yesterday, I posted an interview with Imran Khan for CNN’s Connected the World.

Another former cricketer – Zimbabwe’s Henry Olonga, not so much a cricketing legend, but an incredible brave man – was supposed to be on the show last week, but alas …

Fitting though for a cricketer; rain stopped interview.

Pakistan legend Imran Khan talks politics, cricket and womanizing skills

I came across this video of Imran Khan being interviewed for CNN’s Connector of the Day series in february of this year.

Not exactly recent, but seeing how in Pakistan both politics and cricket seem to be in constant disarray, Khan’s views on these subjects remain actual and relevant.

At the end, he also shares the secret behind his womanizing skills:

Name four famous cricket players from the Netherlands and win a price!

According to an article on Dutch cricket I just read, there are four famous Dutch cricketers.

If you can name all four of them, or at least three, in the comments, there’ll be a price for you.

And I am trusting you to not go Google the answer. That wouldn’t be fair and also – since we are looking for famous Dutch cricketers – completely unnecessary. Right?

I haven’t figured out yet what the price will be, but when you’re entering the competition you may also leave a suggestion.

Good luck!

Poll: Test cricket, ODI's or Twenty20, what is you favorite form of the game?

I have said it before, and most other bloggers, journalists and pundits seem to agree on this, Test cricket is the best form of the game. However, as has also been discussed earlier, the success of Twenty20 and a declining interest in Test cricket suggest a lot of people do not agree.

So today, I want to ask you a simple question:

The best form of cricket is?online surveys

Hardly representative, I know, but I am just really curious about how you, reader of this blog, feel about this.

Let me know your choice in the comments.
