Cricket in 1950 and my post-Ashes-dip

From the British Council Film Archive:

As England battle it out against Australia at Lord’s cricket ground in an attempt to claim the Ashes, we witness the mastery involved – both on and off the field.

And yes, it has been a while since I posted anything. Can’t be bothered that much with cricket at the moment.

A slight post-Ashes-dip probably, not helped by the fact it has been really busy at work and I just don’t care much about all those ODI’s.

Looking forward to watching the Netherlands at the World Cup though. Hope they can cause another upset like the one from 2009 (← watch the video in there :) )

ICC documentary Road to the World Cup

End of roadThere is a lot of interesting Test cricket to come before the World Cup 2011, but nevertheless, here’s a chance to get in the mood a bit.

Road to the World Cup is a documentary produced for the ICC and is fully available online.

Go check it out if you want, but take in account that it might be a bit propagandist as it was the ICC paying the bills.

Shane Warne makes a better statue than commentator

I don’t care about Shane Warne as commentator. Too much commonplaces, too much clichés.

I liked his media appearances better in his playing days, like when he could be seen as a giant statue in these ads leading up to the 2006-07 Ashes.

Probably because he doesn’t say anything.
